PR - $20/hr - $21/hr

Job Description:

• Client is seeking a motivated college student for a part-time Tax Accountant position
• The position requires a team player that is highly organized, responsive, extremely flexible, and can handle multiple projects while producing accurate and timely results.

Essential Job Functions:

• Be willing to learn how to prepare Federal, State, and Local Income and Franchise Tax Returns, including collecting and analyzing financial data, calculating book/tax differences, and preparing supporting work papers.
• Facilitate deliverable exchanges between SMS and external service providers, one of which will be a heavy focus in the months of May-August
• Be willing to learn how to prepare the monthly tax provision.
• Interface with Accounting / Finance / Treasury and Client tax employees concerning tax-related matters.
• Be willing to reconcile financial and tax accounts.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Communicate orally and in writing with tax authorities.
• Gather documentation and provide analysis.

Education/Qualifications:

• College Sophomore or Junior with a 3.5 GPA, minor or major in Accounting.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required.
• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat or comparable software

Must-Have:

• MS Office (Excel, Outlook)
• Adobe Acrobat Reader

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with tax software
