Seer are working with an AI biotech startup in Palo Alto who are looking for Senior / Staff AI Research Scientists to join their team.

Job Requirements:

• PhD (or equivalent experience) in CS, AI, ML, or a related field.
• Strong publication record in leading AI/ML or biology journals and conferences.
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch; interest in generative models, GNNs, or scaling DL systems.
• Solid grounding in theory (e.g. stats, optimisation, graph algorithms), with experience building models from scratch.
• Eager to work at the AI/biology interface and pick up domain knowledge as needed.
• Proactive and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving, start-up environment.
• Well-versed in good coding practices, including version control and documentation; open-source contributions are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of post-PhD experience in industry or academic research.
• Background at startups or top-tier research labs (e.g., OpenAI, DeepMind, FAIR, Google Research).
• Proven work at the intersection of AI and biology.
• Experience with large-scale model training, inference, and hardware acceleration.
• Familiarity with structure prediction tools like AlphaFold and RosettaFold.
• Skilled in generative models for proteins and biological sequences.
• Applied deep learning to protein tasks (e.g., structure prediction, sequence generation).
• Strong foundation in geometric deep learning.
• In-depth understanding of diffusion models, flow matching, and protein sequence modelling.
