Senior Front-End Engineer (Next.js / TypeScript)

Full-Time • On-Site • Los Angeles

Truey is an early-stage startup (pre-seed, MVP nearly ready) building an AI-powered productivity tool for real-time team collaboration . We’re looking for an engineer who can craft fast, pixel-perfect web experiences and speak the language of multiplayer editing.

What You’ll Tackle

• Own the Next.js web client end-to-end—architecture, performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and pixel perfection.
• Design & evolve our GraphQL layer (graphql-request + graphql-ws): 5 + years creating schemas, queries, and mutations with type-safe codegen.
• Ship multiplayer features using CRDTs, OT, WebRTC data channels, or comparable real-time sync protocols (e.g., Yjs, Automerge, ShareDB)—presence cursors, live text, white-boarding, etc.
• Maintain a reusable Tailwind component library.
• Test & release : Jest, Playwright, GitHub Actions CI/CD, accessibility checks.
• Profile & monitor : bundle splitting, Sentry, performance budgets.
• Collaborate daily with design, product, and a Python/FastAPI backend team spread across four continents.

What Sets You Apart

• 5 + years React + TypeScript with deep Next.js expertise (SSR, ISR, routing, edge/runtime).
• Hands-on production experience with CRDTs, OT, WebRTC, Matrix, or similar collaboration protocols—you can explain OT vs. CRDT trade-offs and have integrated at least one library (Yjs, Automerge, ShareDB, etc.).
• Proven GraphQL mastery (5 + years).
• Expert eye for pixel-perfect UI and responsive layouts with Tailwind.
• Clear, concise technical communication .
• Nice to have: exposure to FastAPI, AWS serverless, or websocket back-ends.

Full-stack engineers with a front-end bias are welcome. If ~60 % of your time has been on the UI and you meet the real-time-collab bar, we want to talk.
