Acara Solutions is looking for RF Microwave Technicians to work for our client located in San Leandro, CA and San Mateo, CA who specializes in Defense manufacturing.

Direct Hire

Salary: $66,000 - $123,000 Annually

Shift timing: 9/80 schedule (Every other Friday off) Day shift and swing shift available (Swing shift has a 10% shift differential)

Here is what you will do:

Primary focus:

• Responsible for testing and troubleshooting microwave components, sub-assemblies and final products to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Performs set-up and checks accuracy of standard microwave bench test equipment, such as sweep generators, network analyzers, and frequency counters.
• Performs microwave test, takes measurements and tunes products to meet specifications.
• Troubleshoots components, sub-assemblies final products and/or sys­tems and test equipment to determine cause and remedy of malfunc­tions.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment used to test an­tennas.
• Evaluates, test and recommends commercial test equipment for use in the production test department.
• Interfaces, as directed; with other departments to resolve problems regarding testing or assembly.
• May provide work direction to lower level technicians.
• Performs data review and trend analysis on antenna data.
• Performs limited, intermittent physical exertion. Works under ac­ceptable conditions with some distraction due to occasional ex­posure to noise, dust, heat or chemicals.
• Accurately reduce all data to real numbers for final atp's.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Requires a an AA degree in electronics or a minimum of 2 years specialized trade or military training and/or a minimum of four years of related experience.
• Requires the use of complicated drawings and specifications, intermediate mathe­matics, a wide variety of precision measuring instruments, and ex­perience testing, troubleshooting and repairing microwave products.
• Must be able to climb ladders and crawl inside antennas.

Additional Requirements

• Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion.
• Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands.
• Must have sufficient vision to see relative positions of small parts and able to discern symmetry and proper alignment.
• Will be exposed to some or all of the following: fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels.
• Able to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, and squat.
• Able to occasionally push, and reach.
• Able to lift 50 pounds close to the body repetitively. (Employees need to ask for assistance and use material handling tools for lesser weight in awkward location and/or body positions and for any items over 50 pounds).
• Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
• Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
