Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented
Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities while overseeing inventory control and warehousing operations. This role will be responsible for sourcing quality materials and products, negotiating supplier agreements, and ensuring optimal stock levels to support efficient warehouse management and uninterrupted production or service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing & Procurement:
Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for best value in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and service.
Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance regularly.
Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet production and sales demands without overstocking.
Implement and improve inventory tracking systems and processes.
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile any discrepancies.
Work closely with sales, production, and finance teams to forecast demand and adjust procurement accordingly.
Warehousing Oversight:
Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of products.
Develop warehouse layout and processes to improve space utilization and workflow.
Ensure warehouse staff follow safety and quality standards.
Implement FIFO, LIFO, or other inventory movement methods as appropriate.
Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and warehouse performance.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
Support annual budgeting and cost control initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management; at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of procurement practices, inventory systems, and warehousing operations.
Proficiency in ERP systems such as QuickBooks (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent negotiation, organizational, and leadership skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
