Paralegal

Location: Chicago

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 + bonus

Piper Maddox are exclusively partnered with an industry leading energy producer with around 9GW of operational power plants across the US. With a recent PE acquisition this business are moving into growth mode, and focused on building their clean energy assets across the US.

Working closely with the legal functions you will support a broad range of corporate, transactional, and project development activities. Working with cross-functional teams on matters related to project acquisition, development, construction, and operation of new and existing projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, review, and organization of contracts, corporate governance documents, and regulatory filings.
• Manage entity formation, corporate compliance, and maintenance of corporate records across MRP’s portfolio of project companies.
• Support legal due diligence and document management in connection with acquisitions, financings, and other transactions.
• Interface with internal teams (e.g. development, operations, finance) to facilitate contract tracking, document execution, and legal research.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, regulatory, and transactional matters as needed.
• Assist in developing and maintaining legal department systems and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
• 4+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or corporate law.
• Familiarity with entity management, regulatory filings (e.g. FERC, state agencies), and contract lifecycle management.
• Ideally background within Real Estate agreement for renewable energy projects.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
