We seek a compassionate and skilled Unit Therapist to join our Unit Leadership “trifecta” and provide trauma-informed individual, family, and group therapy to youth and families in our residential program. This role is ideal for a dedicated clinician who thrives in a multidisciplinary setting, ensuring high-quality therapeutic interventions that promote healing and growth.

What a Day in the Life of a Unit Therapist Looks Like:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy to youth and their families following their treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement comprehensive treatment plans that promote healing and growth.
  • Monitor overall child management strategies to align with trauma-informed best practices and legal/licensing standards.
  • Assess team functioning and work with Unit and Case Managers to identify and resolve barriers to effective treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation in compliance with licensing and agency standards.
  • Develop treatment plans, case reports, and discharge summaries in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Support and train staff on therapeutic interventions, team building, and alternatives to restraint/confinement.
  • Provide court testimony as required, summarizing treatment progress and recommendations.
  • Meet regularly with the Director of Clinical Services for clinical supervision and case consultation.
  • Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for youth and staff.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, or a related counseling field with an emphasis on child, adolescent, and family therapy.
  • At least 5 years’ experience providing therapy to youth and families, preferably in a residential, group home, or hospital setting.
  • Wisconsin Licensure in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development and the ability to engage resistant youth in treatment.
  • Ability to lead and guide a multidisciplinary team toward common treatment goals.
  • Experience in family therapy, emphasizing a brief, strategic model of intervention.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills to ensure accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Ability to problem-solve, multitask, and manage crisis situations effectively.
  • Physical ability to engage with active youth and safely intervene when necessary.
