Lead Python/Django Developer

Location: Hybrid – Richardson, TX

Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000 + Bonus

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Lead Python/Django Developer to help drive the development and evolution of our industry-leading data intelligence platform. In this hybrid role based in Richardson, TX , you’ll lead backend and frontend initiatives using Django , Django REST Framework , Vue.js , and SQL , while collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams to deploy cloud-native applications in Microsoft Azure .

As a technical lead, you’ll be responsible for both execution and mentoring—guiding junior engineers, reviewing code, and contributing to architectural decisions. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, analytics, and platform teams to design scalable, performant, and secure software solutions that directly support business and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python , Django , and Django REST Framework
• Oversee and contribute to intuitive, component-based frontends using Vue.js and modern JavaScript
• Write and optimize SQL queries and manage data models within Azure-hosted relational databases
• Lead architecture discussions and ensure best practices in system design, security, and scalability
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support continuous delivery in a cloud environment
• Break down product requirements into detailed technical plans and actionable tasks
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote a high-quality engineering culture
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
• Partner with customer-facing and analytics teams to shape and support data-driven platform features

Key Skills & Expertise

• Python/Django: Advanced experience in backend development and API design using Django and Django REST Framework
• Vue.js & JavaScript​ : Proficiency with modern frontend development, UI architecture, and component-based desig
• nSQL & Data Modeling : Strong knowledge of relational databases, performance tuning, and schema desig
• nAzure Cloud : Experience deploying applications and services within Microsoft Azur
• eCI/CD & DevOps : Familiarity with version control (Git), continuous integration/delivery, containerization (Docke r), and infrastructure collaboratio
• nTeam Leadership : Ability to guide project execution, mentor peers, and contribute to long-term technical visio

nQualification

• sBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience
• )5+ years of professional software development experienc
• e3+ years of Django or comparable Python framework experienc
• e2+ years with Vue.js or a similar modern JavaScript framewor
• kStrong experience working with cloud platforms, especially Azur
• eExperience with Lloyd’s of London bordereaux dat a is a strong plus—particularly around ingestion, validation, and transformatio
