Day to Day:

A large material handling company in Grand Rapids is seeking an IT Manager. This role is crucial for overseeing and managing the organization's IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. The IT Manager will lead and manage IT staff or collaborate with managed service providers, with 3 direct reports. They will oversee and support the company's helpdesk to ensure adequate support to the business between 7am and 6 pm.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing IT systems, policies, and procedures to enhance technological capabilities. Ensuring the security of data, network access, and backup systems is paramount, as is preserving assets, information security, and control structures. The role involves working with firewalls (Palo Alto) and Cisco switches.

This person will plan and lead all IT functions across the site, ensuring data security, network access, and backup systems. They will also manage IT managed service providers (MSPs) to meet the organization's needs effectively.
