Job Title: Import Documentation Specialist

Location: Onsite – SW Portland, OR

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time

Pay Range: $30–$35/hour DOE

About the Role

LHH Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Import Documentation Specialist to join our client's team in SW Portland. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of import documentation. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of experience in import compliance or a similar regulatory documentation role.

This position offers the opportunity to cross-train into North American trucking distribution , making freight forwarding knowledge a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, validate, and maintain import documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. customs and international trade regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve documentation discrepancies.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure documentation practices remain compliant.
• Support audits and internal reviews related to import documentation.
• Assist in developing and refining documentation workflows and SOPs.
• Potential to cross-train and support North American trucking distribution operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in import compliance, regulatory documentation, or a related field.
• Familiarity with freight forwarding processes is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of U.S. customs regulations and international trade documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
