Job Description
The Human Resources Director leads and coordinates organization activities related to human resources and industrial relations functions. As the company's top human resources professional, this individual will provide an employee-focused, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and assists and advises the organization about all employee-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Job duties include, but are not limited to, employment, compensation, benefits, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, affirmative action, training, recruitment, and safety.
- Establishes and implements programs and policies designed to protect company and employee interests according to company HR policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- As a top priority, lead the company's talent acquisition and development strategies to hire and retain top-performing employees in all aspects of our growing business.
- Perform competitive market research to establish compensation strategies and systems that help to recruit and retain outstanding staff.
- Develop recruiting sources to identify, screen and recommend qualified applicants for employment.
- Oversee all human resource needs at the company's two locations, and provide direct management of corporate human resources staff.
- Manage human resources department activities, develop goals, review procedures, and direct and prioritize staff at both the company's multi-site facilities.
- Develop, analyze, recommend, implement, and interpret human resources policies and practices to facilitate employee selection, development, discipline, compensation, and benefits administration per company and employee needs.
- Develop and conduct employee training and development programs based on the needs of the organization.
- Counsel organization in legal and administrative aspects of human resource policies, employment, and labor law.
- Monitor company compliance with government immigration hiring laws and regulations.
- Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns arise.
- Keep the CEO and the executive team informed of significant human resources issues that may jeopardize strategic company goals or employee success.
- Manage and build-upon the company's proprietary strategy execution and performance management system.
- Champion continuous improvement of all company policies, programs, and practices, emphasizing employee-facing opportunities.
- Counsel and assist employees with problems and questions relating to personnel policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management
- Provides Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
- Provides Five or more years of Human Resources management experience in manufacturing environments
- Exudes the highest level of moral and ethical standards, including a deep appreciation for strict confidentiality in the workplace
- Provides demonstrated capacity for data analytics, and superior written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership, creative problem solving and development skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of market-based compensation systems
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of labor law
- Documented evidence of professional certification and continued education is favored
- Demonstrates a broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, and safety
- Proven command of MS Office suite of products including MS Excel and Word software
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and experience in human resource management software systems such as ERP time and attendance, strategy execution, performance management, company intranets or payroll & benefits is preferred
- Experience in a multi-generational family-owned business would be advantageous
- Demonstrated Spanish language skills would be favorable
- Demonstrated experience in multi-site manufacturing operations is preferred
