Arizona Cultural Academy (ACA), based in Phoenix, AZ, has the potential to set the standard for how all private Islamic schools in the country shape their curriculum, manage their staff, build sustainable finances, and – most importantly – produce students with exceptional character and intelligence. ACA aims to empower Phoenix with knowledge, spirit and service. In 1999, we embarked on a dream of creating a private school with a rich Islamic ethos. We have achieved over 20 years of operation, COGNIA accreditation, annual enrollment of 300+ students, and construction of a multi-acre purpose-built facility. We are seeking the best Islamic educator talent to lead Arizona Cultural Academy to become a modern Daycare through grade 12 private Islamic school. 

ACA is seeking a qualified elementary homeroom teacher. Hiring a quality teacher is a critical effort as we build an institution that establishes the next generation of a modern private Islamic school. Additionally, an ACA Teacher is expected to fulfill the following duties:

  • Classroom teaching:
  • Prepared teaching: Prepare, teach, and facilitate learning in assigned course(s). Prepare students for examinations and retention of classroom material. Apply effective research-based learning strategies.
  • Personalization: Develop a personal education plan for each assigned student to ensure all student needs are reasonably accommodated in the classroom setting; encourage students with ambitious goals for their development
  • Lesson Plans: Create a weekly written lesson plan that is aligned with the aims and objectives in the curriculum guide. Select and use a range of different learning resources and equipment in delivering course(s). Participate and organize extracurricular activities, such as outings and social activities. 
  • Monitor Students Progress: Monitor and assess student progress in order to provide feedback on a regular basis to students and their parents. Provide feedback and maintain records of students' progress and development. Maintain data and compile final reports at the end of each quarter. 
  • Student Discipline: Manage student behavior in the classroom and on school premises, and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehavior.
  • Parent-Teacher Meetings: Participate in meetings with staff and parents
  • Self-Development: Participate in regular in-service training as part of continuing professional development. Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other professionals, such as principal, assistant principal, department leader, counselors, and nurses to meet each student’s needs. Maintain open communication between principals, colleagues, students, and parents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required 
  • 2 years of teaching experience in K-12 required 
  • State teaching certification preferred
  • An understanding of pedagogy, curriculum design, and child development
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Command on classroom management
  • Knowledge of PBIS preferred



Compensation and Working Conditions:

  • Salary range: (commensurate with experience)
  • 6 days PTO (Paid Time Off)
