We have been in business for over 50 years, and have well established terminals in Louisville, Kentucky, Cincinnati Ohio and Columbus, Ohio. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety/Recruiting Director.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Safety/Recruiting Director to oversee the daily safety/recruiting operations of our Terminals in Louisville, Cincinnati, and Columbus. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment. The Safety/Recruiting Director will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maintaining safety standards, and implementing an effective recruiting program for all terminals.

Key Responsibilities:

· As the Safety/recruiting manager directly involved and not limited to the following:

o Driver orientations

o Truck/Chassis Licensing

o Completion of workman’s comp reports

o All permit/registration renewals

o completing quarterly IFTA tax return and all other quarterly fuel tax settlements

o keeping all insurance policy information up to date

o Auditing driver daily sheets

o Ensuring monthly safety inspections are completed and documented

o Maintaining all company/owner op driver files

o Renewal of all insurance policies including Auto, Motor Truck Cargo, Property, General Liability workers compensation and maintaining renewal dates

o Maintain medical certifications for all drivers

o Process and ensure that all repairs have been completed on all DOT “Driver/Vehicle Examinations Reports”

o Conduct Accident investigations, report and manage all claims, including workers comp.

o Conduct safety walkarounds on the property

o Troubleshoot all driver phones/ELD issues

o Involved in all insurance renewals

o Constantly reviewing SOPs in attempt streamline all day to day safety department tasks

o Compliance with DOT regulations. And State/Federal OSHA requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Ideally a minimum of 2 years of experience in managing Transportation Safety/Recruiting.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, employees, and senior management.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Safety Focus: Deep knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
