Position: Certified Medical Assistant

Community Health Partnership of Illinois is a is a non-profit organization that provides primary health care to migrant farmworkers and other medically underserved populations throughout northern and central Illinois that specializes in primary preventative medical, dental, and behavioral health service. Our focus is delivering quality, culturally responsive health care services to our patients, caregivers, and partners in the communities we serve.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to physicians and other healthcare professionals in various medical settings.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a valid certification as a Medical Assistant and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred. You must demonstrate professional and compassionate behavior when working with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals. Additionally, you must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and work well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment
- Take patient medical histories and vital signs
- Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Schedule patient appointments and process medical records
- Provide patient education and support
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and protocols
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and computer skills
- Knowledge of medical laws and ethics
- CPR certification
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
