Job Description

The Cable Assembly Technician is a full-time position to support soldering and cable assembly using components and equipment relating to the design and development activities of the ZEIDO Production team. This includes hand-soldering connectors and building cables and wiring harnesses. The role may also include creating/updating build documentation, inventory, assembly, product inspections and some electronical testing support. This position is at our Latrobe, PA facility.

  • Assembly, Test and Repair of various electronic products and cable assemblies
  • Work from simple to complex cable, wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of differing complexities.
  • Good working knowledge of soldering standards: IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610
  • Perform work that meets requirements and standards for IPC/WHMA-A-620 Requirements and Acceptability for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies certification.
  • Perform work that meets requirements and standards for IPC J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified electrical and/or mechanical components or assemblies for products.
  • Member of Cable and Soldering assembly team and also works independently on daily tasks.
  • Mid to Senior technical cable assembly expertise, familiarity with the shop/laboratory and equipment
  • Under direction, responsible for completing/executing process documentation, test documentation and test reports.
  • May require ability to move or lift objects up to 50 lbs. or more.
  • Walking, Bending, Standing, stooping up to 20% of time; Sitting: up to 80% of the time
  • Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable requirements to maintain certification(s).
