To address the increasing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our Digital and AI Team. This role focuses on managing projects that leverage Generative and Agentic AI technologies, along with the digital ecosystems that power them, to enhance mission effectiveness and operational efficiency for customers across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.

Role Summary:

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) will lead AI projects that apply cutting-edge AI, cloud, and data technologies to improve mission-critical operations for the Department of Defense and its associated entities. This role requires a proven track record of managing complex technical projects from inception to completion, with a specific emphasis on AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in project management, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. The TPM will support a portfolio of AI projects that spans direct customer work, business development and pre-sales engineering, as well as post-sales support to existing contracts.

Core Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of AI and digital engineering projects, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and project goals.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Department of Defense stakeholders to understand mission requirements and ensure project deliverables meet their needs.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical oversight and guidance for project teams, ensuring the integration of industry-leading commercial cloud, data, and AI platforms.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring on-time and within-budget project delivery.
• Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and developers to drive project success.
• Business Development: Support pre-sales engineering, BD, and capture activities, including proposal development and customer presentations to secure new AI project opportunities.
• Customer Support: Provide post-sales support to existing programs, ensuring customer satisfaction and the successful implementation of AI solutions.
• Continuous Improvement: Advocate for continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies, staying up to date with emerging trends in AI and digital technologies.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular status updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus. AND 14+ years of experience; OR Master's Degree & 12+ years of experience.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Technical Project Management, preferably in a defense or technology-oriented environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with industry-leading commercial cloud, data, and AI platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, OpenAI).
• Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex technical projects, with experience in methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide project teams toward achieving common goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Technologies: Experience with Generative and Agentic AI technologies and platforms such as Hugging Face, OpenAI, and Google Cloud's Vertex AI.
• DoD Experience: Direct experience working with Department of Defense clients and projects.
• Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar project management certifications.
